Fossil hunting
- A 10x hand lens (affiliate link)For looking closely at fossils, pebbles and museum specimens.
- Fossil dig kits (affiliate link)Plaster blocks with a replica fossil to dig out at home. Messy, in a good way.
Books
- Velociraptor books for children (affiliate link)Look for ones that show feathers: quill knobs on a Velociraptor arm were reported in 2007, and older books may still show a scaly, human-sized raptor.
- Books on feathered dinosaurs (affiliate link)For the bigger story of how dinosaurs and birds are related.
At home
- Velociraptor skeleton model kits (affiliate link)Build one, then check it against the claw page: two toes on the ground, the sickle claw held up, palms facing in.
- Feathered Velociraptor figures (affiliate link)Closer to the fossils than the scaly film version.
